About The Trip

Who’s going, where and when
Thirteen students from Notre Dame High School in Norwich will go to the capital of Zambia, Lusaka, at the end of July 2012. They will be accompanied by four teachers and two CAFOD volunteers.

Week one of the trip
The group will visit CAFOD-funded projects around Lusaka. These projects support communities in a variety of ways, such as by providing medical and emotional care for HIV sufferers, creating income-generating activities for young people, and building wells for clean drinking water.

Week two of the trip
The Notre Dame students will teach children in two local primary schools. The students will help the children to prepare for their exams. The Norwich teachers will exchange teaching methods with the Lusaka teachers.

Community fund
The group will take donated clothes and school resources to Zambia. We will provide lunch for each community project we visit and also make a financial donation to each project.

Previous trips
This is the third year Notre Dame students have travelled to Zambia. Students who have already been on the trip have come back with a determination to raise money and awareness for people in need.
